A Call Beyond

A Call Beyond

A Call Beyond

One of the secret rites of the Choir.

Long ago, the Healing Church used phantasms to reach
a lofty plane of darkness, but failed to make contact
with the outer reaches of the cosmos.

The rite failed to achieve its intended purpose,
but instead created a small exploding star, now
a powerful part of the Choir's arsenal. At times,
failure is the mother of invention.

Usage

  • Summons many small energy projectiles in a sphere above the user's head, which are then launched outwards in several directions, inflicting Arcane damage on any targets in their trajectory.
    • 3 of these launched projectiles have an excellent degree of tracking on targeted enemies.
    • Larger targets have a tendency to be easily struck by nearly all fired projectiles.

Note

  • Has a short casting time, but can still be interrupted by attacks.
    • Once the star sphere forms, the projectiles will be launched, regardless if the caster is struck out of the casting animation.
  • Humanoid targets struck by projectiles will be knocked down.
  • There is a short period of delay prior to the projectiles tracking to a target after they explode out from the sphere.
  • Very effective on enemies with breakable body parts, such as Amygdala, since the summoned projectiles can deal significant damage to vulnerable extremities.
  • Use in enclosed spaces will likely result in most projectiles colliding with terrain before striking the intended target.
