	A crude wooden shield used by the masses who have arisen to join the hunt. Hunters do not normally employ shields, ineffectual against the strength of the beasts as they tend to be. Shields are nice, but not if they engender passivity.

Availability

• Found in the Cathedral Ward. From the Cathedral Ward lamp, head straight until you're outside then take a right and head all the way up the stairs.
  Check the body in front of the large gate at the top.

Notes

• Cannot be upgraded.

• Cannot be imprinted.

• Holding up the shield decreases stamina regeneration and each hit taken while blocking will deplete stamina.

• Blocking players with small weapons such as the Blade of Mercy will cause their attacks to be deflected, potentially allowing for brief openings.
